Hatteras is child and pet friendly, although do not expect to have your dog running free along the beach - this is an on-the-spot fine, to protect the peace of other holiday makers. With plenty of hotels , guest houses and vacation rentals, there really is nothing missed off the list of things you might want for a holiday.

You might even want to have your wedding there, and you won't be surprised to find that this is provided for.

Is Hatteras built around tourism?

Yes. However, do not make the mistake of thinking it's a theme park.
