In reality budget is never likely to be something that should put you off vacationing in California, there are a wide range of beach resorts offering accommodation for all prices, from 5 star to vacation rentals or even camping.

While most people go for beach vacations to enjoy the sea, there are other worthy pursuits like fishing and boating, to power boating and water skiing. Then theres the biggest association between California and the water - surfing!

It's the homeland of surfing in the US, and people gravitate there en masse from all over the world - many locations on the coast are full of the classic surf lifestyle, so if that isn't your style, best to not pick a dedicated surf resort.

California beach vacations have a large variety of appealing choices you'ld expect, and you could go back for year after year and have a different experience each time.
